Warehouse Information

Overview:

The Warehouse Information window allows users to establish warehouses, which are used to maintain and report on Inventory counts and transactions. Use the Warehouse Information window to define the geographic location where you will keep the inventory, and to link the warehouse to the appropriate Organizational Unit (OU) within your company. Users define the General Ledger account # which will hold the value of the inventory stored in that warehouse. General Ledger accounts are defined at the Location class level, meaning there can be multiple Inventory GL accounts per warehouse. Other notable data-points associated with Warehouses include (but are not limited to): Tax Exempt Status, Tax Exempt Certification ID, Tax Jurisdictions, all of which may apply to inventory being transferred from a given warehouse.

Benefits:

  • Provides default values for tax-ability of Inventory exiting the warehouse
  • Allows for greater control and tracking ability to Inventory stored at a physical location.
