DocGen Add-In - Quick Parts

Overview:

Quick Parts are a collection of Content Controls within a data source that are available to display on a generated document.  For example, Vendor is a Content Control but the Vendor Id or Name is a Quick Part.

Content Controls are a standard Microsoft Word feature for merging data elements into a Word document.  PENTA data is merged/mapped with the Content Control, so the Content Control can be added to the document to have the PENTA data display on the document.  The Content Control contains the path to the data

Benefits:

  • Quick Parts or data elements that are not on a standard document can be added.  For example, add a Vendor Id to display with the Vendor Name.

  • System Admin

Additional Content

  • Not all data elements in PENTA exist as Quick Parts that can be added to a document

  • Microsoft Word > File Menu >  PENTA DocGen Add-in
