Catalog Information
Overview:
The Catalog Information window can be utilized for building out supplier product catalogs in PENTA. The catalog window allows you to match up the supplier's part # with your internal part # as well as, track manufacturer codes, pricing factors, unit of measures, price per unit, price history, and quantity breaks. Catalogs can be referenced on purchase order to default the price per unit, product id, or supplier product id. The Product Selection button in the Purchase Order Information window can also be used to search products within all catalogs to find the lowest price. On a periodic basis, the catalog pricing information can be updated using an excel spreadsheet via the Catalog Price Modifiers window.
If your company utilized PENTA's inventory module, at least one catalog is required. When an inventory purchase order is created, catalog Id, supplier product id, and product Id are all required fields. For this reason, it is common for companies to create a generic catalog, not vendor specific, which includes a complete list of your internal product ids. The supplier product Id is simply set to equal the product Id to satisfy the required fields.
