Resolution/Fix/Answer
The Interface Request Type Setup window allows you to establish an identifier and description for an interface Request Type Code. When performing interface processing, you use a Request Type Code to indicate the kind of data you are loading into PENTA.
You can also update, delete, and query Request Type information.
Request Type
Use this field to enter a 1-3 digit alpha and/or numeric code to identify a specific category of interface data to load into PENTA. You use these codes when entering a request to load a data file in the Initiate Batch Interface Request window.
Entry is required. No default.
Request Type Description
Use this field to enter a 1-30 character description of the Request Type Code. When you enter a Request Type Code elsewhere in PENTA, PENTA displays this description for your reference. It also appears on interface processing reports.
Do not use apostrophes. You can update this description as needed without deleting and re-entering the related Request Type code.
Entry is required. No default.
Interface Type
Interface Types identify the processing program PENTA uses to perform the same checks and validations on the contents of the data file that it would if you enter the information in one of PENTA’s data entry windows.
Use the Interface Type field to indicate (with a code) which interface processes you want to use when loading data into PENTA.
Entry is required. No default.
Interface Type Description
PENTA displays the Interface Type’s name/description.
You cannot edit this field; it is for display only.
