Processing Employee Default Timecards in the Time/Equipment/Product Units Entry window

Processing Employee Default Timecards in the Time/Equipment/Product Units Entry window

Issue/Symptom/Question

How does the Default Timecards process work for Employees who always get 40 hours to a certain Job each week?

In the Time/Equipment/Product Units Entry, I enter in a Copy Week Ending date but it defaults to today's date once they load. How do I load an Entry Date for Employee Default Timecards?

Applies To

PENTA for Windows

Payroll > Time Entry > Time/Equipment/Production Units Entry

Payroll > Time Entry > Default Employee Timecards - Master Information

Resolution/Fix/Answer

The "Load Options Date" is to determine which Payroll week to pull Timecards from (it has nothing to do with the "Entry Date" of the current Timecards created by the Load Options selection).

The "Default Information" button is where you select what to put in the "Entry Date" field.

Example:

1) Payroll > Time Entry > Time/Equipment/Production Units Entry

2) Enter in a "Batch #" and select "Daily" as the Batch Entry Type

3) Click "Default Information..."

4) Select your desired "Entry Date" and click "Ok" (04/13/18 is used for this example)

5) Click the "Daily" tab

6) Click "Load Options"

7) Uncheck "Limit to entries originally made by User Id"

8) Select your Payroll Week Ending Date using the "Copy Week Ending:" field and click "Ok" (04/10/18 is used for this example)

The "Entry Date" will now display the Date entered in the "Default Information" window.

If you wanted to Setup Default Employees Time Cards (ie Employee always works 40 hours and charges to the same distribution) You can do that in the Default Employee TImecards - Master Information window. Then when you click on the Load Timecards select the radial button for Employees Default Time Cards and the timecards will be brought into the Time Entry window.
