In Workbench, what is the difference between Save Report and Save Default Layout?
Applies To
Workbench
Resolution/Fix/Answer
Save Report
- Saves a personal copy of the current report
- Saves all formatting changes (e.g. grouping, charts, filters, aggregates, column selections)
- Saves the panel parameters chosen when the report was saved
- Note: Some panel parameters use dates. If you chose a date range the saved report will only include data from the date range defined when you saved the report. If there was no date range in the panel parameters then the saved report will use the Through Date defined each time you open the saved report.
- All Workbench users have the ability to save personal reports
- Your saved report is available for reuse from the My Personal Reports panel
Save Default Layout
- Saves all formatting changes (e.g. grouping, charts, filters, aggregates, column selections) to use as your default each time you open the selected report from the corresponding Workbench panel
- Does NOT save any panel parameters chosen at the time (unlike the Save Report option). The panel parameters selected each time you open the report will be used to determine the data returned.
