Create a new User Group in OnBase and Security Group in Penta
Create a new User Group in OnBase and Security Group in Penta
Issue/Symptom/Question
I want to create a new User Group in OnBase and map it to a new Security Group in Penta but don't know how to map it correctly in Penta & OnBase.
Applies To
OnBase - All Versions
Penta - All Versions
Resolution/Fix/Answer
Note: if you do not have access to OnBase Configuration, please log a Service Desk Ticket and Reference this article.
- You can copy the existing User Group in OnBase Configuration Via Users>>User Groups & Rights>>Select User Group to copy. Otherwise you can create a new User Group. However, you will have to manually add the privileges, product rights, document types, etc.
- Select all settings to copy and select Copy
- Perform a Cache Reset via Utils>>Service Monitoring>>Reset Cache
- Log into Penta and go to Security Management>>Security>>Security Groups
- Enter a Group # and Name that is not currently in use; it is always a good idea to keep the Name and OnBase Name consistent
- Choose Copy from Group and select all Copy items
- Set the OnBase Name (Call it the same name as your created OnBase User Group)
- Go into Define Users and add the new Security Group to the user in Penta
- Verify that the Security/User Group has been added to the user in OnBase via Users>>User Names / Passwords>>Select User>>Select User Groups.
If the User/Security Group was added to the user, it means the Penta and OnBase User Group are mapped correctly.
