Ability to add Notes to Documents in PFW or OnBase

Issue/Symptom/Question

In the Customer window, there is a button for Customer Notes that pops up a window. When creating a Work Order, the Notes would be indicated on the screen.

Does Penta have a similar functionality for the Vendor Information window? And when the vendor is entered in the Invoice Credit & Memo Entry screen's Document tab, the notes would be indicated, like on the Work Order.

If not, are there any workarounds that would help indicate to the user creating an invoice that there are notes on the vendor? If not in Penta, is this available in OnBase.

Resolution/Fix/Answer

Unfortunately, this functionality is not available in Penta. You would have to use the existing functionality of payment terms or automatic holds. 

OnBase does have the ability to add notes to invoices. I does look like there are notes being used in your environment - see the screenshot below. 

  1. Click on the workflow where you want to add the note
  2. Click on the Document tab
  3. Click on the invoice that needs a note
  4. Click on the Related Item
  5. Navigate to the Document tab, Notes area and click on a note to add - update the note as needed
