Why are we getting Line Item is inactive error when adding a manual revenue recognition entry for a job?

Issue/Symptom/Question

Why are we getting and error message,  "Line item is inactive" in the Manual Cost/Revenue Recoginition Entry window?

Environment

  • PENTA for Windows
  • Finance & Accounting > Data Entry > Revenue Recognition > Manual Cost/Revenue Recognition Entry window
  • Project Management >  Owner Contract Information > Contract Information
  • Job is active
  • Manual Revenue Recognition line item date is dated far enough back for user to be able to make the entry

Resolution/Fix/Answer

  1. Navigate to the Contract Information window and query the job
  2. Click on the Cost Plus line item button
  3. arrow to the Manual Revenue Recognition line item
  4. If the Line Item status is 'C' for Complete please change the status to 'A' for Active
  5. Once the Line Item is active the user will be able to enter the Manual Revenue Recognition entry



Cause 

  • Job's status was closed and reopened
