Resolution/Fix/Answer

Use the Cost Analysis by Costcode Segment report to review estimated, actual, and projected cost information for selected jobs. This information displays at a Cost Type/Costcode level. You must either initiate this report as a Compiled Crystal® Report or directly from the Crystal Seagate Info product.

Note: You can only generate this report for jobs you are authorized for.

This report page breaks by Job Id.

Selection

You can limit records displaying on this report by:

  • Job Id: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to one or more Job Ids.
  • Cost Type: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to one or more Cost Types. A Cost Type represents a major category of job cost (e.g., Labor, Materials, Subcontracts, etc.).
  • Costcode: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to one or more Costcodes. A Costcode represents a detail activity on a job cost.
  • CC Segment 1 - 6: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to one or more Costcode segments. A Costcode can consist of one or more segments. A segment may represent a Phase, Division, Area, Activity, etc. Use this Selection criteria to limit information to a selected Costcode segment (e.g., Phase 10). The Costcode segments are defined from left to right. So the left most segment is segment 1.
  • Organizational Unit: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to jobs assigned to one or more Organization Units.
  • Job Type: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to jobs assigned to one or more Job Types.
  • Job Status: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to jobs with a specific job status.
  • Proj Mgr Id: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to jobs assigned to one or more Project Managers.
  • Proj Cntrl Id: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to jobs assigned to one or more Project Controllers.
  • Costcode Status: Limits estimated, actual, and projected cost to Costcodes assigned to one or more Costcode statuses.

Sort

Records sort in order by:

  • Job Organizational Unit
  • Job Id
  • Costcode
  • Cost Type

Subtotals

This report has subtotals at the Job Id and Organization Unit level. Optional subtotals are available at the Costcode segment level. In the Job’s Costcode breakdown, you can indicate whether subtotals appear at the Costcode segment level.

Report Fields

Description - Description for the Cost Type/Costcode combination.

Costcode - The detail activity for which you are reporting estimated, actual, or forecasted cost.

Cost Type - The major category of cost for which you are reporting estimated, actual, or forecasted cost.

UM - The Unit of Measure associated with the Cost Type/Costcode combination (e.g., Hours, Tons, etc.).

Estimated Units - The estimated number of units for the Cost Type/Costcode. This value includes approved change requests. You can update Estimated Units through the Costcode & Estimate Entry, Estimate Worksheet, or Change Request windows.

Estimated Per Unit Cost - The estimated unit cost for the Cost Type/Costcode. This can either be an entered value or calculated as: Lump Sum Amount ÷ Estimated Units. You can update this Unit Cost through the Costcode & Estimate Entry, Estimate Worksheet, or Change Request windows.

Estimated Cost - Total estimated cost for the Cost Type/Costcode. This value includes approved change requests. You can update the Estimated Cost through the Costcode & Estimate Entry, Estimate Worksheet, or Change Request windows.

Estimated Hours - Total estimated hours for the Cost Type/Costcode. You can update Estimated Hours through the Costcode & Estimate Entry, Estimate Worksheet, or Change Request windows.

Cost JTD - The job to date cost for the Cost Type/Costcode as of the report Period End Date.

Cost This Period - The cost incurred for the Cost Type/Costcode during the date range defined by the report Period Begin Date and the report Period End Date.

Per Unit Cost JTD - The job to date Per Unit Cost for the Cost Type/Costcode as of the report Period End Date. PENTA calculates this value as Cost JTD ÷ JTD Units (not displayed on this report).

Per Unit Cost This Period - The Current Period per Unit Cost for the Cost Type/Costcode during the date range defined by the report Period Begin Date and the report Period End Date. PENTA calculates value as Cost This Period ÷ Units This Period (not displayed on this report).

Hours JTD - The job to date hours expended for the Cost Type/Costcode as of the report Period End Date.

Hours This Prd - The hours expended for the Cost Type/Costcode during the date range defined by the report Period Begin Date and the report Period End Date.

Projected Cost at Cmpl - The Projected Cost at Completion for the Cost Type/Costcode as of the report Period End Date.

Projected Cost Variance - The Projected Cost Variance for the Cost Type/Costcode as of the report Period End Date. PENTA calculates this value as The Estimated Cost – Projected Cost at Completion.

Projected Cost Variance - The Percent Complete for the Cost Type/Costcode as of the report Period End Date.
