PentaVault and PentaAccess Technical Requirements

My company is going through an upgrade to PentaVault and/or PentaAccess. I need to set up servers for the upgrade project. What is required to have these servers ready for the upgrade?

The following is for guidance only. Your actual needs may vary. Please contact your Customer Success Manager prior to purchasing additional equipment.

If you are planning to apply changes to your infrastructure beyond these requirements, please do not do so until you’ve discussed with the upgrade team to minimize disruption in the upgrade process.

Please reference 27.1 Technical Requirements in addition to this article, which includes other requirements. This article’s goal is to provide the layout of new servers specifically to support PentaAccess and PentaVault.

If you are hosted with Penta, Penta will send new hosting configuration to right-size the infrastructure.

The following servers are needed:

  • PentaAccess Web Server

    • Externally available Webserver in a DMZ

    • Windows Server 2022 running IIS

    • Domain-joined is not required

    • minimum 2 core, 8G RAM*

  • Internal SQL DB Server

    • Internal server running an instance of SQL Server

    • Windows Server 2022

    • Domain-Joined

    • minimum 2 core, 8G RAM*

  • PentaVault Document Server (PentaVault Only)+

    • Internal server running IIS for data services and document repository

    • Windows Server 2022

    • Domain-Joined

    • minimum 2 core, 8G RAM*

    • Storage Space to contain the document repository

 

If you are migrating from OnBase to PentaVault, you will need additional resources to convert the document repository from OnBase to PentaVault. The recommendation is to temporarily increase the performance of the PentaAccess Web Server to 16 cores. If you are on-premises, please bring up your infrastructure options during the discovery call in order to form a plan.

 

*These specs may need to be higher based on the peak users for your operations.

+If you plan on moving the PentaVault in the future, it is recommended to set this up during the initial PentaAccess setup to avoid application reconfiguration.
