*FUT, *SUT and SUI Tax Types - Self Adjustment

*FUT, *SUT and SUI Tax Types - Self Adjustment

Issue/Symptom/Question

Are FUT, SUT and/or SUI Tax Types Self Adjusting?

Applies To

Payroll

Federal Unemployment Tax (FUT)

State Unemployment Tax (SUT)

State Unemployment Insurance (SUI)

Resolution/Fix/Answer

If the *FUT, *SUT and SUI is set to Y for the Self-Adjusting Code Field, then these taxes will self-adjust based on these Taxable Wages.

PENTA adjusts the employees’ calculated tax amounts back to January 1st of the year for the difference between the old rate and the new rate.

Note: Employer SUI accruals are not adjusted by this setting. Self-adjusting occurs based on the Taxable Earnings for the Tax Type, not the Earnings.

*With PENTA versions 27.1 and higher, FUT and SUT Tax Types are self-adjusting with the Self-Adjust fields set to Y. SDI and SUI are not self-adjusting.
