Overview:
Costcode segments Segments are categories within a costcode breakdown that can be tracked and reported on separately. The costcode breakdown is the entity that groups one or more costcode segments together, but it is the segment itself that can be used for cross segment reporting.
Below is a brief example using a four digit costcode. The first digit is the phase segment, the last three digits represents the detail segment. All 4 digits combined is your costcode breakdown. The combination of these elements open the door allows a user to run reports to and view total cost totals by individual phases, or total cost by detail segment, or across all phases.
- First 1 digit represents the Phase segment
- Last 3 digits represent the detail Detail segment
