Overview:

...

  1. Daily Batch (this method)
    1. Each Employee timecard row has a specific work date. This is most useful when you are capturing time daily and distributing daily. Also can be used when employees work on many different cost distributions in a given day
  2. Weekly Batch
    1. Each Employee timecard row is for the entire work week. Assuming the employee works under the same cost distribution for that work week, one timecard row gives you the ability to enter the full weeks worth of hours. For employees that work on multiple distributions, multiple timecards rows will be needed even with the weekly batch method

Benefits:

  • Ability to manually key payroll timecards or adjustments outside of the import process
  • Weekly grid allows you to potentially cut down on the total number of timecard rows, but allowing hours to be spread across multiple days without creating new timecards rows (if the cost distribution is the same)

Roles:

  • Payroll Clerk
